Leading with Fierce Love and Creativity on a Transitioning Planet

The image of this tree in the Casa Flora Maria garden, adorned with red glass hearts, symbolizes our shared heartspace — a commitment to nurturing love, courage, and creativity in times of global upheaval.

It's here, in the embrace of nature and the warmth of our community, that we seek to expand the transformative power of Flow states.

A Stellar Gathering:

Uniting Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter

in Gemini for Unparalleled Creative Flow

Gemini’s Stellar Gathering:

Uniting Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter for Unparalleled Creative Flow

During the time of our retreat, Jupiter will have just moved into Gemini for the first time in 12 years, heralding a period of expanded thought and enhanced communication, perfectly aligning with Gemini's essence of intellectual exploration, versatility, and the exchange of ideas. This celestial shift calls creators and writers to step forward, sharing their thought leadership and innovative visions.

The day we begin our retreat, the moon will enter the creative and sacred fire sign of Leo, igniting our passions and expressive potential. Simultaneously, the Sun — our source creativity, Mercury — our conduit of perception and understanding, and Venus — our magnet for connection and attraction, will also be converging in Gemini, magnifying the energies of articulation, curiosity, and adaptability.

Even if you're not proficient in astrology, this confluence signifies that mid-June is an exceptionally potent time for articulating your visions and claim your thought leadership through your writing. The astrological conditions are ripe for profound revelations and the crystallization of ideas.

In the heart of Gemini season, we are invited to embrace the dualities of existence. These Flow states — readily accessible during our retreat — are not just moments of peak creativity; they will be our portals to reimagining our existence and culture-making new ways of being, essential tools for weaving words, and weaving new worlds.

A Glimpse into Our Journey Together This June

Amidst the sweeping views of the forest highland jungle of Casa Flora Maria, we find not just a backdrop but a source of inspiration, a reminder of the resilience and beauty that thrives in complexity.

Over six days, you’ll immerse yourself in daily teachings and plenty of reflective space to help you nurture your creative work. Together we’ll weave together our individual threads, crafting a tapestry of ideas, stories, and visions for a world reimagined.

We'll explore how creativity can be a form of resistance, a way to hold space for complexity while envisioning paths forward. Your voice, your story, and your vision are critical threads in this ever-evolving tapestry. Let's gather in Chiapas to celebrate, create, and transform.

Holding Space for Emergent Writing and Culture-Making:
Dive deep into workshops with me, Ixchel Lunar each morning. We'll explore the weavings of writing rituals, creativity practices, Flow, and the decolonization of time, all while nurturing the courage to envision and create a better world. Afternoons and evenings will be space for writing in Flow.

Connecting with Nature and Heritage:
Beyond the workshops, experience the breathtaking beauty of Chiapas through an artisan studio tour, connecting you with the local culture and inspiring your creative work. We’ll end the week with a delightful dinner in the heart of the city.

Creating an Inclusive Community:
Share this journey with a diverse group of FLINTA* creatives and leaders (*Females/Femmes, Lesbians, Intersex, Nonbinary, Trans and Agender.). Come together in a space where every voice contributes to our collective narrative, shaping a future informed by our diverse experiences and shared commitment to growth. Each bringing your unique voices and visions to the collective table, together, we'll create a tapestry of stories and ideas.

Scholarship and Work Study Opportunity:
Recognizing the barriers that may prevent talented individuals from joining us, we're offering a BIPOC scholarship (based on need and project scope), affirming our dedication to inclusivity and mutual support.

There may also be a work study opportunity for an aligned-fit person.
This initiative reflects our core values and the belief that financial constraints should not hinder participation in transformative experiences.

“I learned so much from Ixchel. My sleep hygiene is massively improved, I changed the way I'm delivering programs in 2022 that will make them more effective for both my clients and me, and I'm actually making progress on my book. I AM WRITING without burning myself out.”

Before I received coaching from Ixchel, I was constantly running out of time and working weekends while struggling to find time to finish my book. I know all the usual tricks. I've time-tracked, I've time-blocked, I get up early...and still couldn't seem to crack this nut. So I asked Ixchel for help, because they have an entirely different perspective on time and getting into Flow.

IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I learned so much from them. My sleep hygiene is massively improved, I changed the way I'm delivering programs that will make them more effective for both my clients and me, and I'm actually making progress on my books. I am writing without burning myself out.

ANYWAY. I say all of that to tell you that Ixchel is brilliant. Ixchel trains leaders to:

✅ decolonize your relationship with time so you can RECLAIM IT

✅ skip the energy crashes and

✅ get in and out of Flow states more easily so you can do way more culture-making work in way less time.

How to Get to Chiapas

San Cristóbal de Las Casas, the most magical town of all, is one of the most beautiful cities in Chiapas and Mexico. It is the heart of the Highlands of Chiapas, with an evocative landscape.

A melting pot of cultures, flavors, colors and landscapes, National tourists converge here, as well as those of different nationalities.

It is a city of adobe walls, clay tiles, with nature, culture, memory and evocation among pine forests and mountainscapes. Being a city located at 2,200 m (7200 ft) above sea level, it enjoys a temperate climate and it is necessary to take the following into account:

  • Climate: September is cooler (between 5º and 22º C or 42° and 72° F), the afternoons and nights can be very cool..

  • Fashion: It is essential to bring layers for cooler evenings, wear comfortable, slip-proof shoes, a hat. and sunglasses. The cobblestone sidewalks can get slippery. The sun is strong with a UV index above 10. We also recommend mosquito spray (however our experience of mosquitos has been very minimal here due to the cooler climate).

  • Wet Season: Between June and early October, rains are more frequent throughout the afternoon and evening and it is necessary to remember to bring an umbrella or raincoat. We plan on being inside where it's cozy and perfect for being creative while listening to the pitter patter of the rain on the tile roof.

  • Recommended Vaccinations: Consult with your doctor. Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Cholera.

  • Safety: While there are varying degrees of conflict with cartel in the remote mountains, it is generally safer here than most schools, businesses, public venues in the United States that face random acts of gun violence and mass shootings daily.

  • Tuxtla airport is 77.3 km (48 miles) away from the city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Approximate flying time from Mexico City: 1hr. 20 min. And approximate travel time 1 hr 15 min. from the Tuxtla airport to the city. Mexico City (MEX), Tiajuana (TIJ), and Cancun (CUN) are accessible points to enter from the US and International locations. Find the cities flying directly from other parts of Mexico.

  • The airlines to Tuxtla Airport:

    Calafia

    Interjet

    Volaris

    Aeromar

    Aeroméxico

  • Travel Insurance: Due to Covid and international strife we recommend Travel Insurance. This website has reviews of many providers.

  • A NOTE ABOUT COVID REQUIREMENTS: Because Ixchel had long-Covid for most of 2020 and still takes oxygen treatments twice a day, we will require a negative Covid home test prior travel and upon arrival at the retreat. We will have tests available.

For the safety of our other guests, we ask if you feel sick upon arrival to make other arrangements if you are in a double or triple occupancy. If you are in a single occupancy room, we will arrange for in-room meals, and ask that you stay confined to your room or distanced in outdoor spaces (masked around others). Unfortunately, the enclosed workshop salon would be off limits.

• Anyone who gets rubbed the wrong way from the descriptors of who this is for.

• Anyone that doesn't know the characteristics of white supremacy culture, (please go spend some time with that work now before coming to the informational call).

Will there be a recording of the retreat workshops?

Not at this time. We do not have a budget for a camera crew or editing.

I'm Intersex male-presenting or a Trans man with bottom surgery. Do I belong?

I am absolutely open to to you attending, but due to mostly shared rooms, we may need to either have you in the single occupancy room or room you with other like-presenting people. Can you bring a (paying) friend to share a single or double room with you? Book a chat!

Can I skip the workshops?

Absolutely! If you just want the space to write, you'll have an extra couple of hours each day for Flow Time for writing.

How much personal attention will I get?

This is a writing retreat for me too. 🤩 Outside of the 2-hour morning workshop space each day, there is no personal attention. Each day you will have ample time to get inspired, rest, get creative, and WRITE.

If you are one of the first 6 registered or opt for the Pay-in-full bonus, you will have at least one 1:1 session (your choice of either Flow coaching or astrology/Human Design mentorship) with me before or after the retreat via Zoom (TBD). Pay-in-full enrollees will be given a 2-session bonus package (your choice of either Flow coaching or astrology/Human Design mentorship). If you are seeking additional coaching or mentorship consider booking a chat with me to discuss.

Recognizing the barriers that may prevent talented individuals from joining us, we're offering a BIPOC scholarship (based on need and your project scope), affirming our dedication to inclusivity and mutual support.

There may also be a work study opportunity for an aligned-fit person. This initiative reflects our core values and the belief that financial constraints should not hinder participation in transformative experiences. If you have a proposal for collaboration, email Ixchel.

These two opportunities will only be offered once we have reached a certain operational threshhold after registration has closed. If you have the means and ability to pay, you should enroll.

If I am able to fill your spot from a waitlist, I will offer a full refund minus the $250 administrative fee.

Can I be off-camera?

Absolutely. We're all adults and life is happening around us. If you need to step away, decompress, take a bio break, switch to your mobile so you can take in some views, do it. And let's tend to ourselves and each other with respect and care.
